who just mops the floor?"
asked the wife of her husband.
In his placating tone, he
muttered, "I don't enjoy doing
the housework, either."
ff we had been asked the
wife's question, we would
have been tempted to reply,
"No, I see you as a short,
squatty blonde with big
biceps, who carries a gun."
The special droned on with a
Dr. Levitt, a follower in the
Kinsey tradition, who promis-
ed the tv audience some
"exclusive" comments on
research he had done about
promiscuity.
Attired in a hip jean's jacket
with a bandana lined collar,
Levitt rubbed his hands
thoughtfully, cast his eyes to
the ceiling, and then dropped
his eyes to peer like a raccoon
through his black, horn-rim-
med glasses. His receding
hairline, his apparent attempt
to grow a mustache, and his
mad attire only made him look
as ridiculous as he sounded.
He made inane comments
about supposedly "exclusive"
findings thatwereas tired and
old as he was.
As if the program hadn't
reached a low enough point, it
then digressed into total
absurdity with Erica, the
25 - year - old spinster who
referred to sexual encounters
as "sporting."
We're not prudent, but we
do question putting sex on the
same level with arm wrestling.
The tv questioner asked
Erica about her sexual activity
and then asked: "What
difference is there between
you and what might be called
tramp? .... Probably nothing,"
was Erica's first, off-handed
answer to the question, and we
were inclined to agree with
her.
/ The the special wandered
off in a new direction by
bringing in a young black
couple.
The young man's most
important contribution to the
discussion was his one word
epithet, "Die-no-mite[" This
of course is a mimic of Junior
on tv's "Good Times"
program.
The vicious female then
bantered around the word
"emasculate" and the whole
conversation became dribble.
We know there are many
intelligent and articulate
young blacks that would have
been more representative of
their race if interviewed. We
wonder if NBC chose this
couple in order to set civil
rights back 100 years.
We were also treated to girls
boxing, playing football, and
hockey on the special, which
ended with woman libber
Betty Freiden expousing on
the Equal Rights Amendment
being "the first phase of the
REVOLUTION."
Women's Lib would do
better to use Glory Steinen as
its spokesman, because we
found we couldn't fully
appreciate Ms. Freiden's
comments while having to look
at her. She can best be
described as a woman who
must have been built on a
Detroit assembly line.
A drawn and prune-like
face, a nose that looks like it
was put on with a putty knife,
hair olastered in place with
dippity-do and
brows obviously put
