It was 20° outside and snow was coming down and surprisingly We
still had 202 faithful souls come to Sunday School.
The Children's Sermon was presented by Mike Philpott and gave a
good lesson on making New Years resolutions. He encouraged us to
rely on God's help when trying to overcome our bad habits and
endulgences.
Darlene Duroy sang our morning special, "I Know Who Holds To-
morrow" and she encouraged everyone to tell that Sunday School
Teacher how much they do influence your life and how you do appre-
ci'ate their dedication.
Bro. Albert May gave us encouragement to keep us with our Prayer
Room and not to quit praying there if it is not convenient. There will
soon be a time schedule for those who cannot be at the Prayer Room
but would like to be serving in that capacity. The Christian life is a
battle and the victor is on our side and that is Prayer.
In our prayers we are asking for small things, Daily Needs, and
maybe we think God can't come through or that it would put him on
the spot if we asked for great things. Miracles are happening where
Christians are praying for non-Christian people and Pastor is asking
"What can we get God to do in Perkins, Oklahoma?" This sermon
was taken from Ephesians 3:14-21 and after you read it, your faith
should be strengthened.
Because of the questionable weather, the evening services were can-
celed. Deacon training was postponed. Next Sunday evening we will
be privileged to hear Troy Withey share his message. May God bless
everyone who is striving to serve in any capacity.

Wonder how many looked out this morning and thought "with this
snow and cold, I'm not sure we can get to church and back home with
weather like this, so we'll go back to bed and get up later to get ready
to go out to eat and shop. The roads will be safe for that but just can't
face this weather to attend church to learn more about our Lord."
Bro. Jim Reed's message was from Chapter 1 of Neh. titled "How to
turn a problem into a possibility." Bro. Jim told us there are three
questions to ask ourselves when we read the Bible: 1) What did it
mean then; 2) what does it mean now; and 3) what does it mean to me
personally or to the church or state or nation. The first step in turn-
