Eden Chapel United Methodist Church
Welcome to Eden Chapel United Methodist Church a
very unique experience in worship. We do Sundays a little
different at Eden Chapel and we believe you will enjoy it
as much as we do. We begin every Sunday morning with a
very personal Communion Experience in our Prayer Chapel.
Then we prepare for our Sunday Moming Worship which
leads us into our Gathering Time; after that we are off to
Sunday School to share our lives and experiences with each
other. We have children, youth, adult 'and inter-generational
groups, so we just know that we have one for you. Our
Sundays are as follows: 9:00am Weekly Communion in the
Prayer Chapel, 9:30am Worship in the Sanctuary, 10:30am
Gathering in the Fellowship Hall, 11:00am Sunday School
and Special Classes.
This is the Last Sunday after Epiphany and Transfiguration
Sunday. We will be gathering for the 9:30am for worship in
the sanctuary. The scripture comes from the Old Testament
Book of 2 Kings 2: 1-12 with the title of the sermon being "A
Double Share of Your Spirit". If there is anything that God
might give you; "Would it be a double share of the Spirit"?
Talents are great! Skills are fantastic! Gifts are even better!
But when the Spirit is upon us, these other things seem so
small. Then how much better to have a double share of the
Holy Spirit! Yes it is possible, and yes God can do it for you,
you only need to be responsive to receiving and then use it
as God has planned!
Please remember you are always welcome to come and
experience a very unique way of learning more about God and
church family. Again weekly Communion is at 9am; Worship
Service starts at 9:30am; Gathering Time is 10:30am with
classes at 11:00am. Eden Chapel United Methodist Church is
located at the comer of 92nd Street and S. Fairgrounds Road
we are the little church under the big sign. Come see us!
Lost Creek United Methodist Church
As usual, there is a lot going on out at Lost Creek this
week. We've had the monthly Food Closet on Wednesday
afternoon. As the old saying goes "It's more blessed to give
than to receive." Those who help with the Food Closet each
month would be the first to agree with that statement.
This Sunday morning, the Alaska team will be serving
another delicious meal after Sunday School. This week's
menu includes meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans and
a yummy dessert. Also on Sunday, we'll be commissioning
a team leaving later that same day for Peru. This is the third
mission trip Lost Creek folks have made to that part of the
world and we are excited to see what God has in store for
this year!
Our youth are looking forward to summer already and are
signing up for Youth Force OKC as well as the second edi-
tion of Youth Force Perkins. For more information on how
you can be involved, contact the Lost Creek office or Jake
Ehrlich, our youth director.

FREE "Dinner & a Movie" on Sun., Feb. 19. The dinner
begins at 5 p.m. and the movie "Courageous" begins at 6
p.m. Brother Robin is preparing a brisket for dinner and
our ladies are providing the side dishes! Please come and
enjoy the evening with us as we view another great movie
by the makers of Fireproof and Facing the Giants. Those
who have already seen it exclaim that everyone should see
this movie. Join us!
Linda Riley played an organ offertory and Kole Kennemer
sang "Christ is Risen" before the morning sermon for those
who came last Sunday to celebrate Jesus as Lord.
Brother Robin' s message "God Call Me?" was taken from
John 1:35-51 which tells of the calling of some of Christ's
Apostles. As John the Baptist was standing with two of his
disciples, he declared "Behold, the Lamb of God" - more
accurately stated "Behold, the Sacrifice of God," the Just
Sacrifice that turns away God's wrath from us. The lambs
sacrificed for sin at that time were a prequel to the coming
Lamb of God, which was Jesus. Those two disciples, John
and Andrew, began to follow Jesus, they brought Peter,
Philip, and Nathaniel. Jesus called ordinary fishermen, just
as He extends the call to each one of us to "come and follow
Me." When God calls us He will get us to where we need
to be; calling us each day to follow Jesus, as we die to self
and live daily for Him.
The evening message "Getting to the Head of the Table"
was taken from Luke 14:7-11, speaking to the culture of
achievement even then. It is the same today as this passage
reminds us that we are not the most important people we
know! If we think we have a more important status than
others, we may become embarrassed by our attitudes and
actions. The world standards seem to purport we should "be
a tiger" to get ahead, when God's standard calls us to humil-
ity, meekness and service. Somehow meekness seems to be
misunderstood as weakness, when in actuality it is strength
under control. In order to be great in God' s kingdom, we must
first be the servants of all, following Jesus as our example.
You remember the acrostic: Jesus, Other, You - JOY!

First Baptist Church of Perkins
This week, we would like to hi-light one of the ministries
and happenings going on at First Baptist Church.
In just a few weeks, we will be sending off a group from
our church to Nicaragua for a short-term mission trip. They
will be doing construction while on site, as well as other min-
istries such as working with Children at the local school, and
of course whatever else God opens up in the way of ministry
while there. We are looking forward to seeing all that God will
accomplish as this group goes out from among us to minister
in Nicaragua. It is sure to be another fantastic adventure as our
Church joins the Lord in what He is doing in that Nation.
First Baptist Church has taken an active roll in Mission's
in the past few years. Mission's has become our heart. The
Lord has sent many of us out to serve Him in various ways
all around the world and we count it a privilege to be able to
join Him in His work and take an active roll in spreading the
Gospel throughout the world. Our "Mission's Heart" is not
just over sea's, or outside the U.S, however. We have also
been blessed to join the Lord here at home, ministering to the
Community of Perkins and in other places across our Nation.
We are eagerly looking forward to new opportunities to join
the Lord, whether near or far in the area of Missions. For this
is just one of the ministries that are active and alive in our
hearts at First Baptist Church.
We have been blessed to have many new visitor' s at FBC.
If you have visited our Church, we want you to know that
we are honored that you came to join us for Worship and
we invite you to come again. There are many more happen-
ings and ministries going on at First Baptist Church. (More
than this article has room for.) And we hope that you will
come and make our Church your regular place of Worship
and Service to the Lord. We hope to see you next Sunday at
FBC! Blessings to you all!

Think for a moment. What is the hardest choice you have
ever had to make'!
Way back in the "Dark Ages" of the60's, while attending
the University of Texas, one of my professors cancelled a
class so that we could go to a notable track meet in Memo-
rial Stadium. When some of the serious-minded students
questioned his priorities, he offered that there was profit in
taking the opportunity to witness someone who could do
something better than anyone else in the world. He suggested
that we go see Bobby Morrow mn because he was the fastest
man on earth. I went, and he won, but I profited more when
I learned what an exemplary Christian fellow he was.
The 2011 football season is finally over, but you may not
have heard one little publicized story about choices that were
made concenfing the U.T.-O.U. football game last year.
The game was scheduled to be played on Yom Kipper, an
important day for Jewish students. If the game was played on
