honor rolls
Rose State College student and
Perkins, native Tiffany Taylor
has been named to two honor
rolls.
Taylor, a dental assisting ma-
jor. is listed oil the Fall 2000
Vice President's Honor Roll.
Students qualify with a 3.00-
3.99 GAP and no grade lower
than a C.
She will also be one of 88 stu-
dents from Rose State College
in the 2001 edition of "Who's
Who Among Stddents in
America's Junior Colleges."
Students are selected for Who's
Who" based on their academic
achievement, service to the
community, leadership in extra-
curricular activities and poten-
tial for continued success.
Rose State College is a state-
funded higher education institu-
tion located in Midwest City.

ing the home-half of the frame,
the Demons had only three hits,
all singles from Eric Mills,
Michael Bowyer, and Luke
Spence. However, Pawnee com-
mitted four errors. Also, Josh
and Jeremy Mobley and Jase
Collum reached on walks while
Cameron Karner was hit by a
pitch.
The Demons added five more
runs in the second inning which
was highlighted by a three-run
homer by Collum. He plated
Jeremy Mobley who led off the
inning with a double and Bo
Smith who followed with an in-
field single.
Reserves filled the batting .or-
der in the bottom of the third.
They responded with four hits.
Karner and Brian Carroll
reached on doubles while Eli
Rains and Charlie Hinkle rapped
singles.

earns UCO
scholarship
Aleisha Nelson, a senior at
Perkins-Tryon High School, is
one of 25 Oklahoma high school
students who were recently
awarded the University of Cen-
tral Oklahoma's President's
l eadership Scholarship.
Following an initial screen-
ing and two interviews, Nelson
was chosen from among 450 ap-
plicants to receive the scholar-
ship.
"Students were chosen based
on their leadership and citizen-
ship, and organization and com-
munication skills developed
throughout high school," said
Stacy McNeihmd, director of
Prospective Student Service/
Scholarships. "In addition, each
student's involvement in clubs,
organization and community
service programs were evalu-
ated."
Nelson will receive a full tu-
ition scholarship and half off of
campus housing costs. The
scholarship is renewable up to
four years by maintaining a "B"
average or better and through
active participation in at least
three campus clubs or organiza-
tions.
Recipients are also awarded
a seat on the President's Lead-
ership Council.
"Through the Council, stu-
dents are exposed to a wide
range of opportunities, promi-
nent leaders and professionals
throughout the state,"
McNeiland said.
