The chamber is gearing up for the annual Town Wide Garage
Sale and Town Wide Clean up events, set tot April 21 and April 28
respectively.
It was reported that ads for the garage sale locator map have
been placed in The Journal. Both private individuals and businesses
can reserve ads on the map.
The chamber is joining forces with other civir groups to get the
trash picked up around town. Jolyne Carlson is coordinating the
effort.
Kendra Stanek reported that "Operation Thank You" is under-
way. Chamber representatives wild be contacting Perkins business
owners to learn their needs and find out if the chamber can help
with those needs.
Thirty-one teams have already signed up ibr the Annual Legis-
lative Appreciation Golf Tournament. Kim Brady said that 34 teams
is the goal for the tournament.
Sponsorships of $100 per hole is still needed. Interested busi-
ness owners may contact Stephanie Hyder or Stephanie Pool for
more information.
Patty Johnson surprised Kim Brady by awarding her the Citi-
zen of the Month award. Johnson lauded Brady for her outstand-
ing efforts involving chamber and other civic groups.
"There's not been anything that I've asked her to do that she's
not been Johnny-on-the-spot," Johnson said.
Harland Wells reported that an outside company, Magnolia
Graphics, was in town selling ads for a business directory, and
giving erroneous information that the directory had been endorsed
by tl e chamber and Perkins Main Street.
Wells said this was untrue and urged members to be aware that
the company representatives were using Chamber President Dan
Johnson s business card without permission.
