1930-2012
Billy Joe Lott, 81, of
Perkins, Oklahoma passed
away Friday, April 20 th,
2012 at Grace
Living Center,
Stillwater, OK.
A memorial
service will be
held at 2pm on
Thursday, April
26 at Lost Creek
United Meth-
odist Church,
Perkins, Okla-
homa. The service will be
officiated by Max Rudd
and directed by Strode
Funeral Home, Stillwater,
Oklahoma.
Bill Lott wasborn in
Kennedy, Texas November
1, 1930 and was the son of
Joseph (Joe) Milton Lott
and Callie Elizabeth Ryan
Lott. Bill was raised and
attended public school in
Hargill, Texas in the Rio
Grande Valley, where his
mother Callie served as an
elementary school teacher
for many years. Bill worked
on the family farm before
joining the United States
Marine Corp. He held the
rank of Corporal and served
a tour of duty in Korea
during the Korean War in
1951. Upon returning to
civilian life, he attended
Pan American College in
Edinburgh, Texas.
He married Marceline
"Marcy" Crystella Carey
on April 2, 1955 in Mis-
sion, Texas. Bill worked as
a service manager with his
father-in-law, Chris Carey,
at Carey's Tire and Appli-
ances in McAllen, Texas for
several years. During this
period, he enjoyed coach-
ing little league baseball
teams, fishing, and hunt-
ing. From 1965 to 1973 he
served as General Manager
at JC Penney's Auto Center
in McAllen, Texas and then
Sear's Automotive Center in
Harlingen, Texas. In 1973,
he moved the family from
the Rio Grande Valley of
south Texas to Perkins,
Oklahoma. Bill worked as
a Service Manager at Olt-
manns Motors in Stillwater,
Oklahoma for a short time,
and then joined the Perkins
Police Department in 1974.
He proudly served for 21
years as Chief of Police in
Perkins until his retirement
in November 1995. He was
a good neighbor and friend
to all, a strong family man,
a devoted hus-
band, a good
father to his
three children,
a loving grand-
father to his 7
grandchildren
and a great-
grandfather of 2.
He developed a
passion for com-
petitive trap shooting in the
early 1980's and was an avid
fan and active participant in
the sport until 2010. He was
a member of the Oklahoma
Trap Shooters Associa-
tion and served as a Board
Member for the Shawnee
Trap Club of Shawnee,
Oklahoma. Bill won numer-
ous trophies and honors for
his shooting skills.
He is preceded in death
by his father, Joseph "Joe"
Milton Lott, and mother,
Callie Elizabeth Lott, both of
Hargill, Texas; Sister, Lora
Nell Sanders, of Liberty,
Texas; father-in-law, Chris
Carey; mother-in-law,
Rosella Butler Carey; and
his wife, Marceline "Marcy"
Carey Lott, who passed away
October 11,2001.
'He is survived by two sons,
David C. Lott of Medicine
Park, Oklahoma, and Danny
W. Lott and wife Karen of
Stillwater, Oklahoma, and
one daughter Debbie Lott
Mason of Perkins, Okla-
homa. He is also survived
by 7 grandchildren: Chelsea
Lott of Stillwater; Austin
Lott of Pryor, Oklahoma;
John Wayne McDaniel and
wife Tina of Adair, Okla-
homa; Bo Thompson and
wife Sarah of Boeme, Texas;
Tyler Thompson of Stillwa-
ter, Oklahoma; Cameron
Mason of Perkins, Okla-
homa; and Jordan Mason of
Perkins, Oklahoma; and 2
great grandchildren Madalyn
and Breanna Thompson.
Honorary Pallbearers
will include Austin Lott,
John Wayne McDaniel, Bo
Thompson, Tyler Thomp-
son, Cameron Mason, and
Jordan Mason.

(Helwick) Grote. She mar-
ried Bruce Huff in Turley,
Oklahoma. She was a
member of the Glencoe
Pawnee, OK; and one
very special nephew, D.J.
Ripley, of Glencoe, OK.

Clifford was born on June
21, 1920 in Chattanooga,
Oklahoma to Henry and
Cora Burton. He attended
Oklahoma A&M, and gradu-
ated with his Doctorate. He
went on towork as an OSU
Extension Dairy Specialist.
Clifford married Thelma
Kenyon on June 14, 1941 in
Lawton, Oklahoma. He was
a member of the First Pres-
byterian Church. He was
also a member of NARFE,
Golden Kiwanis Club, and
the Farm House
fraternity.
He is survived
by his wife,
Thelma Burton,
of Stillwater,
OK; son, Wil-
liam Burton,
of Tulsa, OK;
son, Robert
Burton, of Still-
water, OK; daughter, Carol
Walton, of Cherry Hill, NJ;
six grandchildren and ten
great-grandchildren.

Association to meet
Iowa Chapel Cemetery Association will hold its annual
meeting at the cemetery on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 10:
00a.m. We need to talk about a change in officers, and
see what needs to be done around the cemetery. We need
all interested parties there. The location of the cemetery
is, 6 miles West of highway 177, on highway 105, and 2

Cecilia Cooper
1927-2012
Cecilia Cooper, 85,
passed away at Higher Call
Nursing Home in Quapaw,
Oklahoma on Sunday,
April 15, 2012. Her funeral
service was held at 10:00
a.m. on Thursday, April
19, 2012 at the St. Francis
Xavier Catholic Church
in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Interment was at Fairlawn
Cemetery. Strode Funeral
Home was in charge of
arrangements.
Cecilia was born on
March 3, 1927 in Centra-
lia, Oklahoma to John and
Anna (Nehib) Altebaumer.
She resided in Stillwater
for many years before
moving to Miami, Okla-
homa. She was a member
of the St. Francis Catholic
Church in Stillwater and
an active member of the
Altar Society.
She was preceded in
death by her husband,
George, mother, father,
two sisters and three
brothers.
'She is survived by one
son, Anthony Cooper,
and his wife, Lynne, three
granddaughters and one
grandson of Shippenburg,
PA; two sisters,
Maggie Altebaumer and
Margaret Wails of Miami,
OK; several nieces and
nephews; and a very dear
friend, Margie Vitek, of
Stillwater, OK.

Marena Cemetry Association
Sets Annual Meeting
Annual meeting for the Marena Cemetery Association
will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Cemetery
to conduct business. Financial report and previous minutes
will be given along with election of officers. If needed, a
clean-up day will be selected.
In case of rain, meeting will be postponed to following
Sunday, May 5, 2012 at the 2:00 p.m.
Anyone having family buried in the cemetery or owning
burial spaces are urged to attend and voice opinions in the
cemetery's care and upkeep. Like all cemeteries we are
low on monies for upkeep. We will be asking for solu-
tions. Please bring lawn chairs for seating.
