Several band
competitions held

On May 1, the Perkins-Tryon band held the spring concert and
coronation.
Seniors Chad Gill and Aubrey Taylor were elected as band King
and Queen. The attendants include: senior Angela Emerson and
freshman Josh Taylor, senior
Joanna Hubbard and junior Tyrone Palmer, juniors Melissa
Holbrook and Randy Burch, sophomore Emily Harp and freshman
Justin Wollenberg, freshman Becca Brower and junior Damian
McClenny.
On May 2, the band competed in Tri-State. On May 3, a contest
was held at Oklahoma Christian College and Frontier City,

The Perkins-Tryon High School Graduation will be held on May
16 at 8 p.m.
Commencement exercises will be held at the local football field.
Representative Dale Wells will speak on behalf of the 60 graduat-
ing students.
Cash Diel, Aubrey Talyor, and Angela Emerson art; this year's
valedictorians. Each will give a speech graduation night. Stacey
Beverly Charlton, Connie Cundiff, and Monta Lynn Brown were
working hard in the concession stand last week at the district play-
off game. The "Mommas " are helping to raise money for the POSSE-
Parents Organizing Super Senior Extravaganza. The money will be
used to pay for graduating seniors to spend the night "locked up" in
the Stillwater YMCA.

Rebekah Emerson and Stephanie Weis, Perkins Middle School
sixth grade students, competed in the Hershey track meet Satur-
day, May 3rd in Stillwater. The track meet is sponsored by the
Hershey chocolate Co. in cooperation with Stillwater Park and Rec-
reation. Local meets are held state-wide with 1st place winners
advancing to the state meet to be held this year in Norman, Okla-
homa on July 12th.
Both girls placed 2nd in their age divisions in the standing long
jump. Stephanie Weis will advance to the state meet with her 1st
place in the 1600 meter (mile) run and 200 meter run
