In 1954, the Perkins
Lions Club purchased
and remodelled a meet-
ing place on Main Street
and designated it as the
Lion's Den. Perkins
Cafe served the meals at
first, and then individual
ladies of the community
prepared and served.
Some of the ladies who
served were Nora Rice,
Elsie Grant, Edna Eyler,
and Geraldine Allen.
In 1977, the meeting
space was doubled in
size. The Lion's Den also
has a kitchen. The meet-
ing space now is called
Galen C. Holsinger
Lion's Den in memory
of charter member and
longtime member Galen
Holsinger. Other groups
can arrange to use the
Lions Den for meetings.
At meetings, the mem-
