recognition Saturday night at the Annual FFA Awards Banquet.

A record crowd was cm hand Saturday night for the annual P-
T FFA banquet. A slide show was presented by Christina Neal and
Alan Jennings, which highlighted the members' many activities.
Outstanding 8th grade student honors went to Chad Tucker.
Outstanding freshmen were Becky Fox and Justin Wollenberg. Star
Chapter Farmer Award went to Travis Cundiff.
Emil Kastl, representing Payne County Farmers Union, recog-
nized Travis for being the outstanding production agriculture se-
nior in Payne County. Cundiff received $100.00 and a portrait.

Joanna Danielle Hubbard from
Perkins Tryon High School was
among the 86 high school seniors who
were recognized by State Superinten-
dent Sandy Garrett during a recent
ceremony at the state Capitol as re-
cipients of the 1997 Robert C. Byrd
Honors Scholarship. Miss Hubbard
is the daughter of Dan and Joan
Hubbard of Perkins.
"It is such a joy to acknowledge
the work of these extraordinary
y()t|ng men and women," Superinten-
dent Garrett said. "From what I am
told, it was not an easy task fi)r the
selection committee. They had ap-
proximately 300 applicants who met Joanna
the Byrd Program's rigorous criteria, which is an
