It has been a great year
for the Brownie and
Junior Girl Scouts in
Perkins. Through the
course of the year the
various troops have
visited the Perkins Jour-
nal, the city library and
the bank. They have also
visited a Stillwater nurs-
ing home, Pawnee Bill
Museum and the
Stillwater Medical
Center.
In working to earn the
badges, their troops were
work on this year, the
girls learned such things
as basic first aid, weav-
ing, book binding and
woodworking.
Their year in Scouting
was brought to a close
this last week with a fami-
ly picnic at which there
were over 100 people in
attendance. At the picnic,
the girls were awarded
their badges, patches and
year stars. Also, for 14 of
the girls, there was a
special ceremony in which
they crossed over a
wooden bridge to mark
their advancement from
Brownie to Junior Girl
Scouts.
This Wednesday, three
of the Brownies will be
visiting the kindergarten
girls to tell them about
Scouting and what a
great year they've had.
We hope theyll join us
next year!
