What's This Life All About
Ronald O. Weathers
Pastor Of The
Methodist Church
Ann and I are glad to be in
Perkins and have the opportun-
ity of working with you in the
community, We hope we might
be of service to you not only
through the Methodist Church
but also through other commun-
ity means for the glory of God.
We are glad that some of you
have come by to say hello and
welcome us to Perkins--and not
all have been Methodisis either.
This is good, and I hope that ot-
hers of you will also come by
and say hello, as I hope to ev-
entually go by and see most of
you.
If at anytime I can be of help
or assistance to any of you, please
feel free to call on me, and we
shall see what can be done.
The Perkins Journal has in-
vited me, as the Methodist min-
ister, to take part, along with the
other minislers imre in Perkins,
in writing an article from time
to time for the paper. I look
upon it as a great opportunity
to personally speak to each of
you. And if you feel moved to
make a response to what is said
by me, whether that response be
favorable or not, please feel free
to write me.
Today, let us spend a few mo-
ments talking about meaning--
meaning in life. What's this life
all about?, who am I?, and why
am I here?, are all questions we
sometimes ask ourself, and they
are all related to the question of
life and its meaning. When man
tx'gins his search for meamng
he becomes concerned about his
own life and if he can really
find meaning. This is good, hut.
he soon learns that life has little
meaning apart from others. He
finds thai when he is concerned
not only with his own life but
especially with others then life
begins to take shape and have
real meaning. We can see some-
