The Bulldogs were unable to move the ball and the Demons took over on the Yale 14 yardline. Dwayne Deaver broke loose for a 17 yard dash before being drug down on the two. Mark Anderson later drove through to add 6 points to the board. The extra points were made good by Deaver and the Demons stretched the chain 24-0. The conversion was made by Baker d the leash stretch- ed to 32-0. The Demons recovered a Bulldog fumble on Yale's 5 yard line. The final link was added late in the third quarter when quarterback Terry Ventris went in from one-yard out to end the scoring and the Demons took a 38-0 victory. The Demons will host Davenport here this Friday night for the Perkins- Tryon homecoming game. "The boys came out the first quarter and really played their hearts out," said coach McIlvain. "We got a couple of breaks early in the game to set up touchdowns, but we were alert and took advantage of these breaks. "We had a little of a let down in the second quarter. This I could not be satisfied with because a let down could hurt against a real good team. "I thought the team as a whole played real well and was very pleased to see the other kids get a chance to play quite a bit of football. Our second group played real well in defense and did a good job on offense. "The game this week could be a pivot point for us this year. Davenport has some speed in their backfield and a real good quarterback. This is a MUST game for our team."
