8 4B-THE PERKINS JOURNAL, Thursday, October 4, 2001 First Christian Church Charles Wall Sunday, Leonne brought us a message, "Honor One Another" Irom Romans 12:9-11. The Apostle,Paul gives us some practical instructions for the fellowship in our respective congregations. Honor to one another includes brotherly love, devotion, and re- spect. It means doing things for others and showing thoughtful- ness. Doing this brings glory to Christ. Among our opportunities each week are the Ladies Prayer Group on Tuesday at 2p.m., and choir practice Wednesday at 6 p.m. Bible Study and Junior Youth Group meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. , A nice birthday reception was held for one of our members, Jack ',Vassar, at the Vassar Company offices by his family and friends. Happy birthday, Jack! Another of our members, Rhonda Jolliff, with the help of school band directors Kent and Rosalie Taylor and others, organized an alumni band reunion for the football game last Friday night. Thanks, "Rhonda! a God, but we must learn who we are not and who God is. John l:1-5. At times when people seek. a God in all places and things, TV shows, cars, gardens, family, :worldly friends, drugs, jobs or drinking. God loves us so much he steps back and allows evil to take over. So people come back to God, none of us is innocent. We have all sinned. God sends judgement upon all. Nations try to awaken them. What happened in New York and Washington brought the nation to its knees, and while there they remembered to pray. We must continue to pray daily for guidance in all things, no mat- ter how small or large they seem to us. Only God can control things. He has given man the ability to know right from wrong, to choose God's way or Satan's way and every person must do this for them- selves. As Christians we have a duty to pray for all people saved and unsaved, to go and tell those that have not chosen the Lord with all God's love and heaven how to receive all he offers free and for ever.
