THORPE HEIRLOOM
IS REPAIRED
YALE - A crocheted dining
room table clothe, an heirloom
of the Thorpe family, was
repaired at the home of Jim
Thorpe by Alice Cussner. Years
ago something was spilled on
the clothe which caused a stain
and eventually rotted it out.
Cussner painstakingly removed
damaged threads, followed the
original pattern with new
thread and then hooked the
replacement back into the
clothe. Mrs. Cussner is among
few women in the state capable
of making repairs on such
heirlooms, and was commission-
ed by the Oklahoma Historical
Society to make the repairs.
