Pirates Down Demon Girls
the Demons Conquer Trojans
The Mannford Pirates
defeated the Perkins-Tryon
Demons, 59-46, in the
semi-final game in the Oilton
tournament December 15.
In the first quarter, both
teams managed to squeeze
out 11 points apiece.
In the second quarter
Mannford moved into the
lead, but with the help of
James Parrack and his hook
shot the Demons stayed right
with them. The score at the
end of the half was Mannford
27, P-T 22.
In the second half the
Demons continued to trail
Mannford by 6 points and
the Pirates held off the
Demons to win 59-46 by
capitalizing on Demon mis-
takes.

team crushed the Kiefer
Trojans, 57-18, at the Oilton
Invitational Tournament on
December 13, 1977.
In the first quarter all of
the starting forwards for the
Demons scored at least 2
points. Shawn Clark led the
Demons with 5 points and
P-T led Kiefer, 11-6.
The bottom fell out of the
bucket in the second quarter.
The Demons erupted with 23
points. P-T guards Linda
Parrack, Billie Lincoln and
Ida Cretsinger, kept the
Trojans scoreless in the
quarter. The girls went into
the locker room at half time
with a comfortable 34-6 lead.
The Demons continued to
overwhelm Kiefer and went
on to win the game, 57-18.
Shawn Clark led the
Demon Brigade in scoring
with 14 points. Other Demon
cagers who scored were Jana
Moore with 9 points; Dana
Wesffall with 7 points;
Kelley Smalley and Linda
P/rrack with 6 pc:its apiece;
Jennifer Dodrill, Sherrie
Foster and Donna Brake with
4 points apiece; Gladys
Anderson with 2 points; and
Rhonda Lomenick with 1
point.
Other outstanding guards

Rose, Marsha Coffman,
Linda Smith and Lisa Doyle.

Stillwater "B"
The P-T Demons boys
basketball team won their
first game of the season and
of the 1977 Ok[ton Invita-
tional Tournament by defeat-
ing the Stillwater Pioneers
"B" team 63-49.
In the first quarter, the
Demons jumped out to a g-0
lead. The Pioneers scored 5
quick points to keep the
score within 4 points. Each
team added another bucket
before the first quarter came
to a close. The score was
Demons 11, Pioneers 7.
The second quarter show-
Second Place
The Demon girls basket-
ball team suffered their first
loss of the season against the
Ok[ton Panthers at the Oilton
Tournament. Final score was
42-38.
The first quarter showed
low scoring for both teams,
but the Demonettes led
Oilton 8-4 with *4 points
apiece from Jennifer Dodrill
and Shawn Clark.
Oilton completely domi-
nated the second quarter
scoring 14 points. Kelley
Smalley kept the Demon
lassies close with 6 points.
The score as the girls went in
at the half was Oilton 18, P-T
16.
The game see-sawed back
and forth in the third quarter
but when the buzzer rang
ending the quarter the
Demonettes were once again
in the lead 26-25.
In the final quarter Oilton
took advantage of Demon
mistakes by scoring early.
P-T made a strong come-
back, but it was no good.
Linda Parrack hit a last
second half court shot, but it
didn't do any good. Oilton
won the contest and the
trophy with the score 42-38.
Shawn Clark and Kelley
Smalley led the Demonettes
scoring with 14 points each.
Jennifer Dodrill and Linda
Patrick also added 6 points
and 4 points respectively.
With her 14 points, Shawn
Clark is the first Demon
basketball player of the 77.78
season to break the 100 point
barrier. After 5 games she
has 103 points.
Demon Boys Take
Third Place
The P-T boys held off the
Oilton Panthers to win 3rd
place in the Oilton Invita-
tional Tournament last
Saturday night.
In the first quarter,'Oilton
tried to run away with the
game but the Demons fought
back. The score was 17.11 in
favor of the Panthers.
The Demons caught up
with and passed Oilton with
points from Ron Tuley,
Dewayne Denver and James
of the half was P-T Demons
28, Oilton Panthers 27.
The Demons continued to
lead in the third and fourth
periods to win the game
60-55.
Once again, James Par.
rack led the scoring attack
for the Demons with 23
points. Other Demon scorers
were Dewayne Deaver and
Billy Womack with 8 points
apiece. Mike Cameron with 7
points and Tim Spence with
P-T Girls Shanghai
The P-T girls basketball
team won their semi-finals
game by defeating the
Mannford Pirates, 53-43, at
the Oilton Tourney on
December 15, 1977.
The Demonettes exploded
in the first quarter with 19
points. Senior forward
Shawn Clark bucketed 15 of
the 19 scores. Mannford
managed to squeeze out 8
points by the time the first
quarter ended.
The girls continued to roll
up the score in the second
quarter. The score at the end
of the half was P-T 31.
Pirates
Mannford came within 6
points of the Demonettes but
that was it. The P-T squad
held them off and led
Mannford 39-31 going into
the final period.
The Demonettes broke the
game wide open in the final
quarter to win 53-43.
Shawn Clark once again
led the Demonettes in
scoring with 30 points. Other
P-T scorers were Kelley
Smailey with 11, Jennifer
Dodrili with 8, and Sherrie
Patrick. The score at the end 5. Pirates 19. Foster with 4.
