Eden Chapel United Methodist

iBy Rev. John Curtis
It will be the 1 st Sunday after Christmas and Missions
, Sunday at Eden Chapel . Our Noisy Bucket offering is for our
. India Missions (Water Wells) .The message is from the book
, of Romans 15: 1-13 and called “The Gift of Unity”. Apolo-
=. gist, author, and speaker Josh McDowell writes: Tolerance
.says, “You must approve of what I do.” Love responds, “I
must do something harder, I will love you, even when your
. behavior offends me Tolerance says, “You must agree with
. me.” Love responds, “I must do something harder,l will tell
7 you the truth, because I am convinced “the truth will set you
,free". Tolerance says, “You must allow me to have my own
gway.” Love responds, “I must do something harder, I will
- plead with you to follow the right way, because I believe you
fare worth the risk.” Tolerance seeks to be inoffensive; Love
, takes risk. Tolerance glorifies division; Love seeks unity. T01-
erance costs nothing; Love costs everything. If you require an
K example of the Power of Love over Tolerance,l suggest you
read the Life and Teachings (The Gospels) of Jesus Christ.
, Jesus did not tolerant anyone or anything however He did.
7, live out love really well! V

I 2, Merry Christmas to you all! May you have a super family
celebration.
,5; Bob Duke sang a special song “A Christmas Story” before
the sermon for those who came to celebrate Jesus as Savior
;and Lord on Sunday morning.
,. Brother Steve Hawley continued his Hope series, “The
,Hope for Christmas” from Luke 2: 13-14. He had shared in
:a joint “Christmas Breakfast” Sunday School session about
‘the coming birth of Jesus and followed in worship with the
angels exclamation to the shepherds. Jesus was born into a
(religious world who should have known of His coming, but
,missed it. His coming was announced with a star to wise
inien and a choir of angels proclaiming to lowly shepherds
iin the field. The message was “glory to God and peace on
earth. . The peace message was to be the peace only God
jean give: spiritually, relationally, and with others. Peace isn’t
21,1nzittairiable,it is a free gift from God. Peace permeates our
lives the closer we get to God, It is peace in spite of the world.
aPeace is intertwined with the choice of forgiveness activated
in our lives; God handles them both! God works through us
.to bless others and peace “shows”!

We celebrated a candlelight Christmas evening service:
singing carols, hearing the scriptures about the coming birth
of Christ, and lighting candles highlighting those scriptures.
Claudia Andrews, Rita Cavanaugh, Jim Bickell, and Terry
& Paulla Alford lit candles. Also lighting candles were
the Thomas Harder and Cory Nickels families and Tobie
Sanders sang “Mary Did You Know”. Bro. Steve shared
some thoughts about the fact some people today still miss the
meaning of Christmas. Don’t miss Christmas! Sing noel -
shout the joy, peace and love of God sending His only Son,
Jesus the Christ to save mankind!
Dec. 29, 5pm, will be our 5th Sunday Sing followed by a
Soup & Dessert fellowship. Come join us!
Come visit us at 2415 E 1.04, just a mile north of Perkins.

explore the vast dimensions of My Love. Allow thankfulness
to flow freely from your heart in response to My glorious
gift. Let My Peace rule in your heart, and be thankful.

Diamond Valley Church
Genesis 3:17
God cursed the ground and man’s flesh because ‘of sin.
The earth would forever take Dominion over man’s body
because we were made from dust. Jesus Christ was born not
of dust but of the Holy Spirit. He came so mankind could be
redeemed from the comse of the ground. Jesus Christ was
buried and placed in the tomb like any normal man but after
three days he arose from the dust because he has Dominion
over death, and the ground. When we’re born again in Jesus
Christ we change our origins. We no longer belong to dust.
We may rest there for a while but one day we’ll rise again
just like Jesus. This is the season we celebrate the birth of
Jesus Christ and give him thanks for the price he paid for our
redemption from the curse. Because of Jesus Christ we can
have a new birthday as well by accepting Jesus Christ into
our lives and being born again. Happy Birthday Jesus Christ!
Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year! May we all
find a new beginning through Jesus Christ.

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: I bring you good
tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto
you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is
Christ the lord.” Luke 2:10-11KJV .
This last week was another great week at Fellowship Free
Will Baptist Church. Sunday, we did miss several of our
members because some were out of town , for Christmas,
and others were ill. While we are praying for their safe, and
healthy returns next week, we did have a wonderful Sunday
worship service. '
Pastor John Lucas preached about the birth of Jesus from
Luke Chapter 2, and Matthew Chapters 1 and 2. While many
of us have heard the story many times, it is just as glorious
each time we hear it.
Jesus’ birth was the fulfillment of Old Testament prophesy,
a promise made to David, that the Messiah would come from
his bloodline. Jesus was the Messiah, the Anointed one, the
‘ Christ, God in the flesh. ‘
That day, the day of His birth, was the beginning of Chris-
tianity. It was the beginning of the salvation of mankind. It
was this man, Jesus, that was born of a Virgin, born without
sin, and lived without sin; yet paid the penalty for sin with His
own blood, and life, for our sins that allows us to be restored
to God with life everlasting. All we have to do is accept Him,
and ask Him for the forgiveness of our sins. v
While there are many of us that know the story and have
accepted Him as our savior, there are still many that do not
know of the reality of Christ, or of Christmas. Many celebrate
Christmas asa time to give gifts, with stories of Santa Clause,
reindeer, the Grinch, or Frosty the Snowman.
